With the evolving Indian startup ecosystem, many women are following their entrepreneurial dream and also carving a niche in their respective ventures. This is inspiring many other Indian women who are still confined to the traditional homemaker role and rarely bother about themselves.

Although as per a recent report, only two cities of India could make its way to the list of 50 most favorable global cities for women to work. Bengaluru and Delhi came in 40th and 49th place respectively.

A national survey states that merely 14% of the businesses in India are managed by women. The wide disparity in global and Indian women entrepreneurs is evident with the fact that almost 126 million women run their enterprise across the globe and Indian women count is only 8 million.

Here is a list of most successful yet less known businesswomen in India that have made a mark in the Indian startup ecosystem.

Being a passionate traveler, Aditi has seen 135+ cities of 6 continents as she has been on her heels when she was in her school. She earned a management degree and started her profession in finance. Aditi works to spread awareness about the tabooed concept of menstruation. She comprehensively researched and come to know about the unawareness of menstruation and its adverse impact on girls’ life. She believes in the inherent dignity of every people and this led her to start a project Menstrupedia.

She got exposed to a similar situation in her life while spending his childhood in Jharkhand. This let her to write a Hindi comic in collaboration with her husband Tuhin Patel, narrating and informing girls about menstruation. This concept resulted in a full-fledged website – In addition to a comic book section, she tried to clarify menstruation for the website visitor also. Both the segments – comic and also the portal, help know about health, hygiene, and how to be happy during periods. It also answers to several queries.


Ankita has been an expert multitasker and a social media enthusiasts, businesswomen, consultant, and co-initiator of As a serial entrepreneur, she also founded Superchooha and got employed by Ponds, Zapak, Mahindra, Colors, etc., as their social media consultant.

Before starting this venture, she was employed with, and some other companies like Ozone Media. She earned her Psychology degree from Lucknow University and her Management Degree in HR from Amity Business School
