Dr. Sunil Shukla has over twenty years’ experience in entrepreneurship education, research and institution-building. His ‘Review of Entrepreneurship Curricula in Higher Learning Institutions’ helped University Grants Commission, GoI in developing entrepreneurship curriculum and a research on ‘Entry Barriers to Entrepreneurship: As Perceived by Youth’, conducted by him helped the Ministry of SSI & ARI, Government of India frame a policy to establish Entrepreneurship and Business Development Centers in Universities.
Dr. Shukla is the Director General of Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India. He was adjudged winner of the coveted ‘Outstanding Entrepreneurship Program Abroad – 2014’, for Institute’s flagship PG Programme by the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE). At present, he is anchoring Institute’s newly launched Doctoral course ‘Fellowship Programme in Management’, that focuses on quality research in entrepreneurship.
Dr. Shukla has been involved in promoting entrepreneurship at national and international levels. His activities include ILO-SAAT Missions for capacity building of IEDI, Kathmandu; faculty support to UNIDO, Amman; and to TVTC, Zambia. He is the Member Secretary of South Asia Forum for Entrepreneurship Education and Research. During 2006-11, he successfully anchored a mega project ‘Unleashing Entrepreneurship for Development and Trade’ in Greater Mekong Sub-region countries, sponsored by SDC, Switzerland. As a visiting faculty, Dr Shukla has been teaching ‘Entrepreneurship’ at top ranking institutions including IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Udaipur.
Dr. Shukla has also been working with various firms for their strategic planning and Intrapreneurial capacity building. The companies he has worked for have rated his work very valuable. His advisory work includes ‘Revitalization Plan’ for EMI, Jaipur, India for restructuring and strategic planning.
