Ricoh India woos Indian SMEs

Tetsuya TakanoRicoh India Limited, a subsidiary of Ricoh Company, Limited, Japan, announced its aggressive expansion plan into fast emerging laser printer market. To this end, it has unveiled an all new range of new models of laser printers and A4 MFPs: the SP 1210N, SP 1200SF and SP 1200S. The newly launched product portfolio targets the SME segment.

These new models comprise of the SP 1210N with a speed of 22 pages per minute and is a single function network laser printer priced at Rs. 9,900. The print language used by this model is PCL with paper capacity of 250 sheets. The second model, SP 1200SF is an A4 Multifunction laser printer that serves of a Printer, Scanner, Copier and Fax machine furnished with an excellent print speed of 22 pages per minute. Priced at Rs. 17,000, the model uses print language PCL 6 and PS3. Other features include PC faxing, 36 bit color scanning and a Fax speed of 33.6 KBPS and dial of 250 numbers. The third in Ricoh’s new Series is SP1200S that functions as a printer, scanner and copier with a speed of 22 pages per minute. The model comprises of features such as Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) and 36 Bit color scanning and is priced at Rs. 11000/- . The MFPs devices have addition features of ID copy and unauthorized copy control Print features.

The newer models will enable Ricoh to continue to meet the diversifying product in printer market requirements, such as high-mix, low lot size and short delivery time. The models have been specifically designed to serve SMEs and are therefore manufactured with print modes such as the Toner Save mode. These are front operation printers which make it easier to exchange the toner and allow quick recovery from errors. And last but not the least, the SP Series are N to 1 printers, that facilitate printing of multiple pages into one sheet.

Speaking on the occasion Tetsuya Takano, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Ricoh India Limited remarked, “With the changing business environment, customers are looking for products and services that offer quality, increase efficiencies, and have short turnaround time with prompt after-sales service.”

He also added, “Most importantly, in current Ricoh Laser Printer ranges, in a couple of models in the mid and high ends, where Ricoh is offering  guaranteed print cost, a never-before feature, would help the customers get a guaranteed cost, irrespective of their coverage area of print helping them realize the worth of their money. Hence we are confident that these products will attract a wide range of customers.”

Elaborating further, Mr. Takano remarked, “We have plans to expand the Laser Printer business and are appointing over 150 Enterprise IT Dealers and System integrators by end of Sept’11.”
