E-mail Print PDF

Service is the buzzword for every company and customers are the king. In the IT world, this applies even more. With electronics becoming commonplace and more and more small firms setting shop to capitalize on the boom, a company dedicating itself to ‘service’ exclusively is bound to be unique in the herd.

eTechies, the country’s first professional Home & Online PC Repair & support for all kinds of computer related problems was founded by three industry veterans in 2010. The company provides affordable and credible engineers on call at home across Delhi and NCR region. Founded by three veterans in the industry Rohit Chaudhary, Siddharth Bhatia and Samarth Goyal, the three have in between them over three and a half decades of experience.

eTechies provides a plethora of service options for customers. From one time fix, Annual support and one time instant fix, it also provides all the mentioned services for Mac. It received funding of $2 million from Inventus Capital in a series-A funding round.

Currently, door step laptop repair services are provided in Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Ghaziabad, Manesar and Faridabad. With claim of providing service anywhere and everywhere, the company is sanguine about the prospects of growth in the coming time. Here are excerpts from the interview with Mr Siddharth Bhatia, COO and Co Founder eTechies.in.

Tell us about the journey from working for about two decades in credible companies to setting up a service based company?
In April 2010, eTechies was launched. After spending almost two decades with some of the biggest names in the online technical support sector, I realised that we do not have an organised player in the computer repair service. Providing third-party technological support to clients based in USA has been India’s prerogative. Towards the end of 2009, I put down my papers at an IT solutions company and did some market research in the arena.

All companies providing products have their own service plans as well. So, what is the USP of eTechies and how does it attract customers?
Etechies is the only technological service provider focusing on end-to-end need in India. The way we deal with the customers and the orderly manner in which their issues are handled sets us apart. This includes details such as the contract and login we provide them. Our engineers are adequately qualified and competent. We have a state-of-the-art service centre, and ensure that our technicians do not misuse user's data. To help the users know the status of their requests, we have a real-time tracking mechanism that furnishes all the required information on our website.

eTechies has received rave reviews. How are you planning to popularize it further because a lot of it depends on information reaching to the masses?
We are planning to expand in top 6 cities across India. As we are offering technical services to our customers, we are popularizing it by introducing various service plans like; one time service, annual subscription etc. for our customers. It can give option of buying the services to SME & their customers.

How did the different partners come together in this venture?
Me and Samarth came together at Quatrro to start a technical support brand in US. While we did that, we always you use to discuss the future of tech support in India. During our various discussions we found the inclination of launching such a service in India in each one of us and hence Etechies.

Which all cities are you planning to expand your services and by when?
We have an extremely aggressive outlook to expand in the current fiscal (2013). With our current speed of expansion now we are available in Delhi/NCR, Mumbai & Bangalore and we should be present in the top 12 cities of India by March 2013.

Are you looking to tie up with small firms which have large number of customers to increase your reach?
At present we are busy expanding to various cities and are completely focussing on that. We don’t intend to acquire or partner with companies in the same service but channel partner is something we will definitely like to explore in time to come.

How much were the company revenues in the fiscal ending March this year and what is your outlook for the next fiscal?
We are expecting at least 300% growth from last fiscal.

Are there any more services which you are planning to introduce in the time to come? What are the other ways in which eTechies is looking to expand?
We grew revenues 10X last year and are now investing in more service centers, technology and marketing,

Your advice to people looking to turn as entrepreneurs?
Everyone has their own working style; there is no mantra for that. My only advice is that it can be rough but those are the days when you have to stand the tallest and ensure your team is completely motivated to get through it.
