Koovs: The Online 'Deals' Factory!

Well you don’t have to call Aladdin’s Genie to make this happen…! ‘Koovs’ is the mantra that you have to chant, and the ‘Deal’ is done...

‘Koovs’ is an online service provider that banks on the concept of collective buying to provide ‘Deals’ on local goods and services. In an exclusive online interaction with Krishnakumar C K, Editor, Small Enterprise India.com, Mr. Kunal Singla , the founder of Koovs shares the concept and core values behind his venture.

According to Kunal, Koovs strives to serve both the merchants and consumers through special deals through which both get great benefits. In other words, by means of collective buying through Koovs, a merchant gets more customers, and customers get goods/services at a pretty much discounted rates which is a great value for money for them. “These deals can be either in a restaurant, pub/bar, a spa, adventure zone, a dental clinic, hang out place and may  be even with a jyotish Kendra” says Kunal.

Within a short span Koovs now has four branches in India and Singapore. Besides through special tie ups, Koovs has many more offers across India. The right reward a young turk like Kunal deserves for ‘clicking’ entrepreneurial passion within him!

The inspiration for this young entrepreneur to conceptulise this business model is the sheer passion  to come with a unique business model that is tailor made to suit the SMEs and common people. “Our aim is to help consumers save more and help merchants to achieve 100% occupancy rates without spending any upfront costs”, adds Kunal.

Kunal believes that an online platform has added advantages today since you can do everything through online. People are getting more tech savvy day by day, and they can enjoy the luxury of getting things done with just the click of a mouse! “Children from the age of 5 years to people as old as 60 years are using the internet. Having said that, the internet penetration is still low and we still have some time to go before the internet becomes really big in India” quips Kunal.

On the strength of the Team behind Koovs, Kunal says that most of the people on board have known each other for quite some time. This makes their team a well woven one with a common goal. “Each person is coming from a different profession, and I believe it is a perfect mix what a company would require and now we have the dream team which could take us to big scales while emphasising on the core values such as customer and client orientations, creativity, and passion to serve” says Kunal proudly.

Kunal had to come to terms with hardships in the initial days. “It has been a roller coaster of good and bad times. Launching operations in the start is definitely not easy especially when your business model is innovative and new. I believe the biggest challenge is when we have to educate the clients/merchants how can this business model be beneficial for them without diluting the brand value. Sometimes, the customers also feel skeptical especially in India as they are not used to online buying”. Despite all odds, Kunal managed to steer his venture to a proven success and created a strong brand name and trustworthiness amongst the merchants and customers.

No wonder that more and more people are getting hooked to Koovs to avail great deals on multiple services and goods.
