Small Enterprise India Reflects on a Successful First Year

E-mail Print PDF

Small Enterprise India has always been at the forefront of delivering important and useful information to Indian micro, small and medium businesses (MSME). And in doing so, we have achieved many milestones. One such milestone was achieved in July 2011. We are very delighted to announce that our portal completed one year of its operations this month.

Within a short span of one year, the Small Enterprise India team has witnessed a huge interest and participation from the MSME community in India. Thus, we can reiterate that we feel proud on Small Enterprise India being a successful initiative.

MSMEs in India have huge potential and great capabilities to make a global impact. But, at the same time, there is a great amount of challenges that an entrepreneur faces today while in his bid to make his business impactful and fruitful.

Over the past year, the portal has recognised the contributions of MSMEs in the overall economic growth of the country and highlighted opportunities and challenges of the Indian MSMEs. Small Enterprise India through it’s focused team of content writers and journalists, spread all across the country, have created content, which has raised the true voice of the industry at the right platform of decision makers and policy makers.

While covering this sector, we came across with many interesting opportunities, success stories, and challenges, which the entrepreneurs of this segment are facing. One of the most comprehensive challenges that Indian MSMEs are facing is the struggle in finding dependable business knowledge and expertise sharing.

Though the entrepreneur community from the MSME segment in India has been seeking expertise, they have not been getting hold of the right experts for their exact needs. We understood the complexities of these multiple challenges and we felt that it was of high importance that MSMEs must avail the expertise that is lying in their business ecosystem. In this bid, Small Enterprise India kicked off a series of road shows titled SME Learning Series (www.smelearningseries.com).

As a business news portal focusing on MSMEs, Small Enterprise India facilitates direct exchange between the large networking of the Indian SME community. In order to bring the expertise at the doorstep of entrepreneurs, the idea of SME Learning Series was conceived. The SME Leaning Series came out as a ten-city road show in its Phase 1 series.

Promoting the theme of “Educate-Innovate-Grow”, SME Learning Series has become a successful initiative with regards to knowledge sharing among Indian entrepreneurs and MSMEs.

SME Learning Series as a road show, reached out to almost 3500 entrepreneurs across India, especially through its online delegate registration system in all the ten cities it covered over a period of three months.

The road show has witnessed a great level of support from industry associations. In addition to this, Ministry of MSME, Government of India, have also motivated the portal’s activity in order to achieve maximum impact for the betterment of the MSMEs in India.

Apart from this, the portal Small Enterprise India has generated close to 28000 registrations for its online newsletter that goes to these registrants on a weekly basis. The portal has received great amount of interest from all corners of the Indian industry.

The portal is surging ahead to create more value for its readers, which encompasses the crème de la crème of  the India business community such as entrepreneurs, business heads, CEOs, managing directors, partners, and proprietors of their respective business.

We have plans to introduce more such platforms wherein knowledge sharing and motivation towards innovation can be given. The portal is also surging ahead in enhancing the level of technology adoption, finance management, marketing practices and so on, among the MSME segment.

With this, I on behalf of the Small Enterprise India team, would like to thank all of our readers, delegates who attended the SME Learning Series and supporters, because of whom this became a success story. Now, let’s strive hard, let’s contribute in each capacities to build the Indian MSME segment more robust, growth centric and beneficial to the community.

We will continue to uphold our dedication to the Indian entrepreneur community by bringing hard case studies and success stories, time and again. Here's to a successful year ahead!
